Spiders, Autons, & Americans

News from Warner Home Video: two memorable Jon Pertwee stories – Terror of the Autons and Planet of the Spiders – will be released on DVD in the US and Canada in a few months!

Terror of the Autons is to be in full colour (hurrah!) and should come packed with the following special features:

  • Audio Commentary
  • Life on Earth
  • The Doctor’s Moriarty
  • Plastic Fantastic
  • Photo Gallery
  • PDF materials: Radio Times Listings, promotional material from Sugar Smacks, Nestle
  • Production Notes Subtitle Option

Pertwee finale Planet of the Spiders, meanwhile, will include these:

  • Audio Commentary
  • The Final Curtain
  • John Kane Remembers…
  • Directing Who with Barry Letts
  • Now & Then
  • Wogan
  • ‘Planet of the Spiders’ Omnibus Edition
  • Omnibus Trailer
  • Photo Gallery
  • PDF materials: Radio Times Listings

Terror of the Autons and Planet of the Spiders will hit American and Canadian store shelves May 10th, for $24.98 and $34.98 (in US dollars) respectively.

But wait!  Surely if these titles are being released in Region 1 (North America), they’ll be released in Region 2 (where the UK is) as well!  How could we forget?

While an official date has not been set, you can expect these two stories to be available on DVD to residents of the British Isles slightly before the Americans get it.  Spiders will be a standalone while Autons is to be included in a box with Spearhead from Space.  Two Auton stories, and the Pertwee premiere and finale, all in the space of a week or so.  Now 2|entertain just needs to reverse the polarity on The Ambassadors of Death!

Patrick has just been murdered and is currently seated on the edge of a lawn chair wondering when this Missy person will stop demanding his autograph. He probably can't tweet from the grave, but you should follow him anyway @10PatrickRiley.
