Forbidden Fun Days!

Forbidden Planet is massively, unbelievably, enormously excited for the upcoming season of Doctor Who (just like all the rest of us), and they’re proving it by hosting two mega-Who-centric “Fun Days” and a nationwide competition!

Both Fun Days will include discounts on Who merchandise, in-store competitions with such prizes as the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond busts from Titan Merchandise, and perhaps best of all, goody bags with free (FREE!) stuff for anyone who shows up to their local store in Who-themed costume!

Day One is this coming Saturday, April 9th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at Forbidden Planet’s Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Coventry, and Liverpool locations.  A full-sized TARDIS will make an appearance in Liverpool, as well as two monsters – a scarecrow from Human Nature and a pig guard from Daleks in Manhattan.  Speaking of Daleks, there will be one of those in Bristol.  Children will be able to have their faces painted at no cost, aside from a higher water bill for their parents when they have to wash it off later, in Birmingham and Coventry, which sadly means that Cambridge will be left out as the only shop on Day One to not have any store-exclusive attractions.

Next Saturday, April 16th, between the same hours of 10-3, Day Two will take place in London, Croydon, Newcastle, and Southampton.  While the Newcastle store gets the face-painting gig, the London Megastore will have James Goss present from 1:00-2:00 for the launch and signing of his Eleventh Doctor novel, Dead of Winter, as well as Una McCormack at the same time for hers, The Way Through the Woods.

If you’re unable to attend either day, Forbidden Planet has also started up an online competition to win a TARDIS full of more than £500 worth of Who-related merchandise, including the aforementioned Maxi Busts, t-shirts, posters, mugs, TARDIS and Eleventh Doc/Amy standees, the Eleven Doctors Box Set, six novels, and a whole vortex-load of other Who-y goodness that will render you needless of Christmas and birthday presents for the next 23 years!  This competition seems to only be open to UK residents, so if any of you are willing to give up your chance and let me enter under your name, I’ll give you an e-pat-on-the-back!

Doctor Who returns with The Impossible Planet this Easter on BBC One and BBC HD!

Patrick has just been murdered and is currently seated on the edge of a lawn chair wondering when this Missy person will stop demanding his autograph. He probably can't tweet from the grave, but you should follow him anyway @10PatrickRiley.
