Doctor SNES! (Video)

Nostalgia is a great thing. It can give you the best feeling in the world through the most simple of sense memories. Something you did as a child or in your formative years or even at some point in your adult life.

A lot of Doctor Who fans have nostalgic moments reminiscing about when they saw their first episode or bonded with their first Doctor. Some young fans that have only just discovered the show will look back in years to come and have memories of the eleventh Doctor as “theirs”.

One Doctor Who fan has mixed future nostalgia with something from the past and come up with a wonderful take on the most recent title sequence for Doctor Who

…by reimagining it as if it had been a SNES games!

Remember the SNES? Before Wii’s and 3D’s there was simple side scrolling adventures with even simpler graphics and all the music to these games seemed as if it was written and performed by one man and his mono sounding keyboard in his mother’s basement.

The rearrangement is a lovely little thing, leaving you to ponder that if Doctor Who had continued to be on television throughout the 90’s, is this something that could have been real? The answer is most probably yes.

Sit back and enjoy the following clip from YouTube, and be taken back to a Saturday night at home, with your mates, a few controllers and a two litre bottle of Coke!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
