Being Human creator Toby Whithouse

Whithouse Hides Companion Details

Is it a blessing or a curse writing for the new incarnation of Doctor Who? Certainly for long termers like Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss it is as it fulfills a childhood ambition but what about the other writers?

Being Human creator Toby WhithouseSpeaking recently with the Hollywood Reporter, Toby Whithouse revealed that he knew a bit about the new companion that the Eleventh Doctor would be getting and also about some of the bigger plans for the next series of the show, currently in production.

“In terms of the series as a whole…. there are quite a few things I know,”

The swine! As we sit here salivating for any information that we can get our hands on, some people have been lucky enough to get a sneak preview, so to speak, of Moffat’s plans.

But maybe that for the best, certainly one of the best parts of sitting down to watch a brand new series of Doctor Who is the mystery and wonder of where the show will take you this time, surely knowing the end result would change your viewing pleasure? Maybe or maybe not but Whithouse seems to lean towards the “I wish I didn’t know” camp:

“The one downside of working on Doctor Who is that you know what’s coming up.”

If that’s the only downside, then never mind! This is the exciting part for all of us, plans are afoot, rumours are spreading but above all, a new series of Doctor Who is being made as you read this!

Doctor Who will return to BBC One this autumn.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
