Doctor Who Tops iTunes in the USA!

Well, well, well, looks like Doctor Who is not just a rating winner on the television sets of viewers but also in the download market as well.

We’re not talking about BBC iPlayer downloads here either, we’re talking about Doctor Who being the most downloaded television show on iTunes in the USA for 2011. Of course, we all know that the show is the best thing that’s ever been created but it’s wonderful to see the States acknowledge this fact as well.

Doctor Who beat a lot of other prime time American shows to this rather brilliant top spot by being simply…the best. It beat Entourage, True Blood, The Walking Dead, Top Gear, Dexter and even Glee to name a few.

Steven Moffat commented, rather tongue-in-cheekily about what this means for his future plans for Doctor Who:

“Next, the universe!”

This will also surely put a few uneasy minds at rest that have been worried about the ratings for the show over the last few years. These results prove that not only is Doctor Who as popular and as enjoyable as ever but that the show is still going from strength to strength and bringing in new viewers!

We officially watch the most downloaded show in the USA via iTunes; maybe we should add that to our business cards…

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
