Camille Coduri as Jackie Tyler

Camille Recalls Fondness for David Tennant

Whovention GOLD, the Doctor Who club of Australia’s 2013 event has taken place over the weekend with DT Forum’s very own blogger and moderator JoJo in attendance.

Camille Coduri as Jackie Tyler

The lucky lady will be in the presence of three very recognisable Doctor Who faces from different eras. Camille Coduri, who played Jackie Tyler from 2005 until 2010, represented Doctor Who’s newer era whereas Louise Jameson (Leela alongside Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor) and Dudley Simpson (Doctor Who composer on over 60 classic Doctor Who stories) opened the door to the past.

At the time of reporting, the convention was still ongoing and JoJo could not give a huge amount of detail as she was busy basking in all the Doctor Who glory that we didn’t get to. She did however manager to report back that Camille Coduri’s talk regarding her time on Doctor Who was embellished with great fondness for the time of work but also for her co-star David Tennant:

Camille spoke very fondly about working with David…She described him as an ‘excited puppy’ – and went on to call him ‘their saviour’…After working with Chris, who she described as very intense, David she says was ‘like all your birthdays and Christmas every day. He never complains about anything. Ever. Which was a bit weird at first, but that’s just him!

Sounds like Tennant was just what the Doctor ordered for the show! (Groan – Ed)

Ok, apologies for that one. We await a full report from DT Forum on JoJo’s experience when she recovers from her jetlag.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
