Sylvester McCoy Donates Signed Items To Charity Auction

We all have items in our closets that we no longer wear because they don’t fit or because we think they don’t suit our current style or that we just don’t like any more. Many of us tend to leave these items sit and languish in the back of the closet or buried in storage, collecting dust or ready to become food for the moths.

But they can still do so much more good!

The Seventh Doctor himself, Sylvester McCoy, has done just that with items he no longer has a use for – to help raise funds for children in need throughout the UK.

Barnardo’s Great Winter Stock Appeal encourages everyone in the UK to donate their gently used winter coats, jumpers, boots, scarves, and other winter gear to Barnardo’s charity shops so that the stores will have these items to sell for a low cost come winter.

McCoy has donated a number of jumpers and scarves from his Doctor Who wardrobe as well as some items from the set of The Hobbit movies – all signed – to Barnardo’s in hopes to raise money for the charity.

All of the items are up for bid on eBay and all of the proceeds will go to the charity. But you need to hurry; they all end soon!

To find out more about the eBay auctions, how to donate your gently used items, or where your local Barnardo’s shop is located, please check out the charity’s website!

Rebecca is still new to the Who world, but is no stranger to sci-fi, being a life long Trekkie. When not watching, reading, blogging, or talking about Doctor Who, she watches so many movies and reads so many books she has to keep a list of both so she doesn't forget any of them. She wishes she could have been with the Doctor and Amy when they met Van Gogh.
