Katherine’s Christmas Fear

Doctor Who Christmas special star Katherine Jenkins has revealed that she has been a bag of nerves as the build-up to her acting debut in A Christmas Carol continues – so what will she be like on December 25th?

Jenkins told the Radio Times that her nerves have never been so bad – despite performing in front of thousands of people on stage and singing live on TV in front of millions. Of course, she’s never shared a screen with Sir Michael Gambon, Matt Smith, Arthur Darvill or Danny Who? Horn before, has she!?

“It was far worse than any nerves I’ve ever had for any [musical] performance. I spent a lot of time thinking about it. It’s such an iconic show and it’s one that we watch as a family.”

Regardless of her concerns, we’re pretty sure Miss Jenkins will do a great job. Although it is her first time acting in anything…

“I’m the first to say I don’t really consider myself an actress.”

“I asked if I could go in and read to them, and I thought, ‘Well, if I’m rubbish they won’t give it to me, will they?’

(Unfortunately with Doctor Who that argument doesn’t work. If you want proof, watch Rise of the Cybermen and tell me what Andrew Haydn-Smith thinks he is doing.)

Best of luck, Katherine – we’re sure you will be fine!
