Behind-the Scenes Interviews at the BAFTAs

As you’ve no doubt heard, The Day of the Doctor won the Radio Times Audience Award at the BAFTAs, and the film and TV institution has released the above clip, revisiting the ceremony and showing behind-the-scenes interviews, conducted by Jenni Falconer.

The award was presented on Sunday 18th May and was collected by executive producer, Faith Penhale, Marcus Wilson (who joined in The Impossible Astronaut and, as producer, oversaw all subsequent Eleventh Doctor stories until his regeneration in The Time of the Doctor), and Nick Hurran, the 50th anniversary special’s director.

It does seem odd that Mark Gatiss, Chris Chibnall and Arthur Darvill were all in the audience, but weren’t invited up: yes, the award was for The Day of the Doctor, but as Faith says, it’s really for everyone who’s had a hand in the show’s 50 year history.

Penhale confirmed that Peter Capaldi is doing “an incredible job” too. But that was never really in question, was it?

When he’s not watching television, reading books ‘n’ Marvel comics, listening to The Killers, and obsessing over script ideas, Philip Bates (Kasterborous' former Editor) pretends to be a freelance writer. He enjoys collecting everything. He is the co-founder of The Doctor Who Companion:
