Big Finish Cleans Up

Big Finish are moving up in the world of media, transitioning from the audio world to a visual one as they co-produce a new short film called Cleaning Up.

Written by Simon Guerrier and directed by Thomas Guerrier, the plot follows hitman Mr Jackson played by Doctor Who’s very own Mark Gatiss. Joining Mark is an impressive cast list including Big Finish Executive Producer and voice of the Daleks Nicholas Briggs and Tracy-Ann Oberman, best known to fans as Yvonne Hartman in the 2006 adventure Army of Ghosts/Doomsday.

Simon’s work will be familiar with Doctor Who fans as he’s been involved in writing spin off media for quite some time now. As well as writing for Big Finish’s Doctor Who audio range and Companion Chronicles range he has also edited many Short Trips novels, written a few BBC Doctor Who books as well as lending a hand to the Doctor Who Magazine comic strip as well!

Big Finish CEO Jason Haigh-Ellery remarked:

“We couldn’t be more thrilled. Brothers Simon and Tom brought me a great script… I just couldn’t say no.”

The script itself will be edited by none other than Joseph Lidster, another Big Finish stalwart. Cleaning up will start its run by being shown at film festivals before being given a wider release. Keep an eye out for the trailer at

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
