New Trailer for Masters of Earth!

Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are set to embark on their first proper Dalek story in a few minutes’ time (and we’re stoked to see the beast snarl at some Daleks!), but there is another upcoming Dalek story you absolutely have to know about!

In preparation for Capaldi’s first Dalek story, Big Finish has released a brand new trailer for Doctor Who: Masters of Earth – a brand new full cast audio drama, featuring the Sixth Doctor (Colin Baker) and Peri (Nicola Bryant) taking on the Daleks!

But these aren’t just any Daleks; these are Daleks the Doctor has already defeated…

The trailer can be heard here, but here is what you can expect from the new story:

The year is 2163. Ten years since the Daleks invaded the Earth. One year until the Doctor, in his first incarnation, will help bring the occupation to an end. But for now, their reign of terror goes on. The TARDIS brings the Doctor and Peri to Scotland – enslaved, like everywhere else on the planet. But there are rumours of Dalek-free islands off its coast. Places where resistors and refuseniks are coming together, gathering arms and armour, preparing to strike back against the enemy.

When the Doctor falls in with an unlikely group of freedom fighters making that dangerous journey to Orkney, he finds himself trapped – but not only by the Daleks, their robotised henchmen and their human collaborators. By history. Because history shows that for another year, resistance is useless…the rebellion must fail – and as a Time Lord, the Doctor can do nothing to help.

To quote the recently departed Eleventh Doctor, “I think it’s gonna be a whopper!” Should be interesting to see how the Sixth Doctor handles the conundrum he finds himself and Peri. Doctor Who: Masters of Earth releases in November and is available for preorder from Big Finish.

“That’s bacon! Are you trying to poison me?” And from that line on, I’ve been unable to stop watching, reading, musing about the Doctor. As a recent transplant to the Whoniverse, I’ve been trying to soak up as much Who-related knowledge as possible. That journey has taken me from the Tenth Planet to the Fields of Trenzalore and gently set me at the edge of my seat for what’s next. It’s an honor to be here and I plan to bring a unique perspective. I hope you’ll enjoy the journey alongside me.
