The Fourth Doctor Returns to Telos in August!

Truth be known, for a programme about time travel, the Doctor rarely goes back and visits big events in the timeline of his prior selves. This is with good reason, however (insert your favourite timey-wimey explanation here). But later this summer, Big Finish is sending the Fourth Doctor and his current TARDIS team back to Telos for Doctor Who – Fourth Doctor Adventures: Return to Telos! If you’ve done the math, you also may have guessed that this release will also see the return of the Cybermen.

Here’s a brief glimpse of what to expect with the release:

The Doctor reveals to Leela that they’re heading for the planet Telos. And K9 has new masters…On Telos, in the past, the Second Doctor and Jamie are exploring the ‘tomb of the Cybermen’. Meanwhile, the Cyber-Controller and Cyber-Planner consolidate their plans. Spare parts from Krelos are being used to construct a mighty Cyber army. The Doctor must be captured. Out of control, the TARDIS tumbles down a chasm and the Doctor and Leela find themselves caught up in full-scale planetary invasion.”

In addition to Louise Jameson and John Leeson reprising their roles as Leela and K-9, respectively, this adventure will also see the return of Frazier Hines’ Jamie! Based on synopsis alone, there is no indication if Jamie will interact with the Fourth Doctor or not, but here’s hoping that they do. After all, Hines shares top billing with Baker and Jameson on the credits (see image below).

The audio is set to release in August but you can get your pre-order in now. Will you be taking a return to trip to Telos with the Doctor? Or are you planning to sit this one out? Do let us know!

“That’s bacon! Are you trying to poison me?” And from that line on, I’ve been unable to stop watching, reading, musing about the Doctor. As a recent transplant to the Whoniverse, I’ve been trying to soak up as much Who-related knowledge as possible. That journey has taken me from the Tenth Planet to the Fields of Trenzalore and gently set me at the edge of my seat for what’s next. It’s an honor to be here and I plan to bring a unique perspective. I hope you’ll enjoy the journey alongside me.
