The Who Shop’s Third Doctor Celebration

The Who Shop continues their celebrations of Doctor Who’s fiftieth anniversary this month with a one day event to celebrate the era of the Third Doctor. Lovers of reversed polarity, Venusian Aikido, action galore and Bessie should apply for a ticket as soon as they can!

Of course no celebration would be complete without a few guests and The Who Shop is happy to indulge. They’ve managed to procure the wonderful Katy Manning, who played Jo Grant from 1971 until 1973 and reappeared in character in 2010’s Death of the Doctor for The Sarah Jane Adventures. She will be joined by David Troughton who played three roles in Doctor Who over the last years, Private Moore in 1969’s The War Games, King Peladon in 1972’s The Curse Of Peladon and Winfold Hobbes in 2008’s Midnight. The Who Shop is also happy to welcome Michael Troughton for the day as well. Both David and Michael were the sons of the late Patrick Troughton who played the Second Doctor from 1966 until 1969.

As usual, the day will be full of fun and there’ll be one or two opportunities to get some of your goodies signed. The price of the ticket, £40.00, will include two autographs per guest. There will be a professional photographer at the event taking photographs with the guests, sessions can be booked in advance and will cost £10.00 per guest or £20.00 for all of the guests together. Each photograph will include an autograph from the relevant actor.

10×8 photographs will be available at £10 and include an autograph. Further personal Items can be signed for £5 each on the day. A limited edition amount of one hundred copies of prints of all the guests together will also be available on the day.

The Who Shop’s celebration will take place at The Who Shop Convention Suite in West Ham Football Club. You can purchase a ticket for £40.00 either over the phone or by visiting the store.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
