More BFI Tickets for General Public

By a show of hands, how many of you that are members with the BFI, got Doctor Who tickets for their Doctor Who at 50 event this year so far? Ah, most of you!

Okay, and by a show of hands, how many non-members did not? Ah, all of you.

Well, try to settle down; put down the TARDIS lamp that you’ve smashed at one end to form a rudimentary weapon and read on…

Celebrate The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary!

The BFI, realising that their Doctor Who at 50 event sells out to members each month at an astonishing rate, has decided to allow members only two tickets per sale, meaning that once the cardholders have placed their orders, there should be more available for the general public to get their hands on. This is starting with the April sales for the Saturday 4th May 2pm screening of the Fifth Doctor classic The Caves of Androzani.

BFI Champions and BFI Members have been choosing their seat allocations and tickets amounts (maximum two, remember? Oh, do try and keep up!) and have up until this Friday 5th April to make all of their choices. After that, the remaining tickets, plus the twenty five that are usually kept aside for the general public, will be released for purchase to non-members from Tuesday 9th April and will again have the restriction of two tickets per customer.

Now, this may not necessarily make a huge difference to how quickly the tickets sell out; these are for a very popular event so you’ll have to be quick to get your’s booked. It should give a few more people the chance over the year to catch maybe one of the screenings however.

Keep vigilant and keep visiting the BFI website for more information! And while tickets for Robots of Death have completely sold out, you can buy tickets for The Caves of Androzani here.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
