Musketeer’s Tom Burke: Audience Award BAFTA Belongs to Doctor Who!

20140518-124943.jpgIn a brief interview with the Radio Times, The Musketeers actor, Tom Burke, gave his thoughts on who should win the Radio Times Audience Award at tonight’s BAFTA TV Awards.

When asked who should win the coveted award, Burke said:

I’ll say Doctor Who. I met Tom Baker when I was a kid, because my mum grew up with him in Kent.

We bumped into him at the supermarket and she said to him, ‘Tom wants to be an actor.’ And he said, ‘Oh, don’t be an actor. Be a movie star!’

A sterling recommendation from one of current Doctor, Peter Capaldi’s, former co-stars! The British Academy Television Awards are tonight Sunday at 8:00pm on BBC One. Will you be tuning in? Do you agree with Burke’s assessment? Sound off below!

“That’s bacon! Are you trying to poison me?” And from that line on, I’ve been unable to stop watching, reading, musing about the Doctor. As a recent transplant to the Whoniverse, I’ve been trying to soak up as much Who-related knowledge as possible. That journey has taken me from the Tenth Planet to the Fields of Trenzalore and gently set me at the edge of my seat for what’s next. It’s an honor to be here and I plan to bring a unique perspective. I hope you’ll enjoy the journey alongside me.
