Arthur Darvill is a…stand up comedian?
Ok, not quite.
But he is taking part in a night all about what it is to be a comedian. Next Monday, 26th January 2015, Arthur Darvill, along with Sara Pascoe, James Acaster, Katherine Ryan and Romesh Ranganathan (Newsjack), will be part of “This Comedian” a night about what it’s really like to get up on stage in front of people and “bare your soul” to absolute strangers.
Darvill’s part in the evening’s events is starring in the world premiere of a “lost Samuel Beckett play” entitle Pointless Anger, Righteous Ire, directed by Robin Ince and Michael Legge, who you may recall know a little something about pointless anger and righteous anger.
The night of comedy is the kickoff event for documentary project exploring the work of photographer Idil Sukan. Sukan has spent more than a decade designing for the Edinburgh Festival and the last 5 years photographing stars across the entertainment world, more recently focusing on those in comedy. Her debut exhibition. also titled This Comedian, will open 19 February at the Embassy Tea Gallery in Southwark and will feature her photography as well has her design work for the festival and for her marketing agency, DrawHQ, based out of West London.

I wish I lived in the UK so I could attend this event and her gallery opening. Her work is stunning and the exhibit will feature her images of tons of stars, including this one she recently tweeted about, a bloke you might just recognize…
