Prepare for The Robots of Death!

One thing that can be said about some of the early Doctor Who DVD releases is that they lack solid extras. There are some commentaries and trailers but a serious gap is evident from the lack of documentaries following the making of certain serials.

Hence why we are now being treated to the reissue of some of the first Doctor Who DVD releases via the Revisitations box sets.

Revisitations 3 is out on Monday with a wealth of new extras as well as some seriously re-mastered picture and sound quality.

The now-extinct 2|entertain has teased us with snippets from some of the new documentaries that are included in the release. Yesterday focused on The Three Doctors and today’s offering is from The Robots of Death. There’s a little insight from the designers point of view looking at costumes and sandminer designs. The lovely Louise Jameson (Leela) and Pamela Salem (Toos) also give some behind the camera anecdotes.

Featuring Tomb of the Cybermen, The Three Doctors and The Robots of Death, the Revisitations 3 boxset is available now to pre-order for an excellent £25.97 from Amazon and is released on 13th February.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
