Ninth Doctor Comic Series in March!

Great news from Titan Comics: a fourth Doctor Who title will be released next year – a Ninth Doctor comic starring the incarnation made famous by Christopher Eccleston!

The news comes straight from Hannah Means-Shannon at the Diamond Retailer Breakfast, New York Comic Con, where she teased:

“[Titan’s Ricky] Claydon discussed the Doctor Who fanbase and mentioned that fans recommend one particular Doctor the most, the [Nonth] as played by Christopher Eccleston, which will also feature Rose and Captain Jack and will come out in April as a new series from Titan.”

Oh, and one very pleasing picture…

Yep, that cover is by the brilliant Alice X. Zhang. We’re big fans of hers, here at the K.

Even though she says April, the first issue (likely to be a mini-series of five issues) will be on sale in March – the tenth anniversary of NuWho! I know! I can’t believe it either! What’s more, it’ll be written by Cavan Scott, an author who really knows his Who: take a look at our interview with the talented scribe.

There are also teaser images from two other ongoing Titan series, The Tenth Doctor and The Eleventh Doctor, with the former’s preview looking a lot like a Weeping Angel…

C’mon, everyone – get behind Titan. They’re doing some stellar work (expect more reviews soon) and exploring all the NuWho Doctors. We’ll give you more news of The Ninth Doctor as we get it, but until then, let’s just make the assertion that this will be fantastic!
