Consequences is an anthology book published in 2009.

The Baby Farmers:
First story.
Written by David Llewellyn.
Along with Captain Jack, this story featured Emily Holroyd and Alice Guppy who had appeared in the TV Torchwood.

Enthralling story of what the story title means and horrifying at the same time.

The Consequences anthology book was published in 2009 and I was surprised that The Baby Farmers included a Victorian barmaid by the name of Clara who was at the age of 26.
Remarkably just three years later in 2012 TV Doctor Who featured its own Victorian barmaid by the name of Clara in The Snowmen also at age 26.
However unlike the TV Clara, the Clara in The Baby Farmers is a blonde woman.
Also The Baby Farmers took place in 1899 just seven years before The Snowmen in 1892.

The Wrong Hands:

Third story.

Written by Andrew Cartmel .

Cartmel was the last script editor of “classic” Doctor Who.

In fact perhaps showing that he is not far from his Doctor Who memories, The Wrong Hands has Jack thinking Gwen was talking about the Doctor when she actually meant a GP.

Cartmel provides an enjoyable tale that involves an alien weapon, a baby seeking love and a teenage gang.

Gwen takes care of the said baby and The Wrong Hands being part of Consequences was released in October 2009, three months after Children of Earth where it was revealed that Gwen had become pregnant but we would not meet her daughter until Miracle Day in 2011.

Virus:
Fourth story.
Written by James Moran.
As well as Jack, Gwen and Ianto this story also featured Detective Swanson from They Keep Killing Suzie.
The team has to deal with a virus a problem of which was ultimately solved by Ianto.
Very enjoyable story in which Ianto got to shine in dealing with this virus.
